About Atomic Racing

Welcome to the Atomic Racing Club!

Based out of Vancouver BC, the Atomic Racing Club is one of the city’s oldest road racing clubs. Founded in 1994, we are a registered not-for-profit society whose purpose is to support men and women across all age groups. Although Atomic is primarily a road racing club, our members have a passion for all things related to cycling including cyclo-cross, track racing at the Burnaby Velodrome, mountain biking and triathlon. New entrants to the sport are provided assistance from seasoned cyclists with years of racing and training experience.

Regular Workouts

Atomic holds a weekly official group ride that is supplemented by informal group rides and mid-week workouts. The workouts are open to all members and levels.

Racing

Our members can be found racing throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. In addition to single day events, members organise road trips to attend multi-day stage races abroad.

Race Promotion

As a long-standing member of Cylcing BC (the provincial governing body for the sport of cycling in BC), we have been very active in race promotion and have hosted sanctioned races each year since our inception. Our events have gained a reputation as being well organised and are eagerly anticipated by the cycling community at large.

Social Events

Club social activities include seasonal parties (e.g. summer BBQ, Christmas party, etc.), year-end award presentations, video nights, etc.

Discounts

Atomic has negotiated discounts on merchandise and service from SpeedTheory, the Lower Mainland’s premier bike retailer.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors form the backbone of the club, overseeing the daily operations and providing the strategic vision. Board members are voted in by the members at the annual general meeting (typically held in November) and serve a one-year term.

The Board of Directors for fiscal 2010 are as follows:

  • President – Dominic Walsh
  • Membership – Andrew Wilson
  • Treasurer – Roger Bing-Wo
