The course had all the makings of what we have come to expect from the B.C. Cup series. Fast descents, rolling climbs, and a fast pace from the start ensured what was to be a hard day in the saddle.

From the gun, Symmetrics set out with a blistering pace to try and ensure an early break. After a few unsuccessful break away attempts the first serious break was established. Lasting only a few laps, a five man break including Trek, Symmetrics and Escape Velocity were reeled back in.

As the laps wound down, it appeared that a bunch sprint was looking likely to happen. This was until the BC Cup leader Matt Usborne managed to slip away and establish about a 40 second break up on the peleton. Dropping his companion he could not hold on and was caught with 15km to go in the race.

The pace stayed high with various teams like Rocky Mountain launching riders off the front, to no avail. In the final kilometers, it was the Campione Team that came to the front setting tempo for the their team leader Larry Zimich. Zimich was able to jump on the final climb to the finish and stay away for his second BC Cup win of the year, taking back the overall BC Cup lead.
