Club Membership

Atomic is currently seeking new members!

The Benefits of Membership

In addition to meeting like minded individuals to train and race with, Atomic also offers the following benefits:

  • Team kit (jersey, shorts, etc.) at club cost
  • Regular group workouts
  • Discount prices on products and services from our sponsors
  • Organized travel to races
  • Access to our website’s members-only section, where you’ll find various cycling related resources

Membership Criteria

The club has the following expectations of members, both new and existing:

  • Commitment – We expect members to attend group rides on a regular basis
  • Learn to Race Clinic – We suggest that all new racers attend a “Learn to Race” clinic. Please contact Cycling BC for information on upcoming clinics
  • Cycling BC License – All members of Atomic must, for liability purposes, have a Cycling BC license. Non-racing members must take out a “General Membership”. Racing members must take out a “Citizens License” or a “CCA/UCI Race License”. See the Cycling BC membership page for more information.
  • Race Promotion – Atomic has a strong reputation for organizing cycling races throughout the Lower Mainland. It is a mandatory requirement that all members volunteer for Atomic sponsored events
  • Sponsors – Please thank our sponsors by supporting them whenever possible. Consider our sponsors first when looking for products or services that they provide

Ready to Join?

We require all prospective members to attend 2 to 3 group rides to meet the group and to ensure that we are a good fit for you before joining the club. Please refer to the Atomic Rides section of our website for more information about the rides.

For new members that are ready to join Atomic, we will require the following:

  • Completed “Waiver form” (download waiver)
  • Evidence of a valid Cycling BC membership – as per above
  • $50 Annual membership fee – this can be paid by cheque (in favor of “Atomic Racing Club” and mailed to “Dominic Walsh, 1611 East 14th Avenue, Vancouver BC V5N 2C9”) or payable on-line via Karelo. Membership runs for the calendar year, but if new members join later in the year the fee is often pro-rated.

For renewing members, we only require evidence of a valid Cycling BC membership and payment of the $50 annual membership fee.
