FOR THE LOVE OF CYCLING
Founded in 1994, Atomic Racing is one of the longest running clubs in Vancouver.
We love to cycle, whether an epic ride over mountains in preparation for a fondo, or a cruise through flat lands with a coffee stop in the back of our minds. In every instance, we think it’s better with friends. We ride year round and we’d be delighted if you joined us.
RIDING
We ride when it’s sunny, we ride when it rains. (Exceptions are snow/ice on the roads.)
Some of us race. Some of us ride for fun and fitness only. No one is required to race. However, we do encourage regular participation in Saturday rides.
Saturday club ride
From a local coffee shop: we ride where wind and weather directs us. Richmond, Belcarra, North Shore Mountains...average distance is 75km—100km.
Mid-week training
Spring/Summer: Tuesday Hills and Thursday Morning Park Loops
Fall: Tuesday Night Flats and Thursday Morning Park Loops
Winter: Tuesday and Thursday Morning Park Loops
We also organize yearly training camps and trips to farther away places such as Mt Rainer, RAMROD, the Sunshine Coast and the Pyrenees. Where next? Join us and make a suggestion.
Penticton Training Camp
Each spring, we rent a house and ride for three days through scenic backroads and rolling country in the Okanagan. The weather is usually good and the food even better.
OFF THE BIKE
Social get-togethers are scheduled throughout the year to give members a chance to meet when they're not cycling.
Beach BBQ
